Odwalla
A complete global site redesign with the intent of giving the brand the same hand-crafted feel in the digital space as the process of making the juice itself. To illustrate this, we enlisted a paper artist to create working pop-up paper art that we made come alive in the digital world through stop motion photography in an HTML 5 experience. Users controlled the speed and "open/close" of each animation themselves at any point throughout the site where tabs were available.

A Truly Handcrafted Homepage

Select Paper Craft Illustrations

The process began by concepting all the image and icon ideas, storyboarding them then directing artist Chris Collicott on the construction and execution of all pieces. After completed, Todd Heckert photographed each piece in action to create stop-motion animations with Isaac Trujillo providing additional animation and illustration to the images where needed, and overall design support.

Stop Motions Animation Examples

Each pop-up papercraft illustration on the site was designed and executed through stop-motion to create a physical experience where the user could pull the tab on each pop-up book papercraft in real-time, moving the pull tab up or down and controlling the speed of the animation themselves by touch on ipad/mobile and cursor on desktop. The feeling of engagning with the site literally felt tactile.
